Where Did I Come From?
Since the death of my father,
I've become more interested in my ancestry and how it shaped me. I
know, for instance, that I inherited from Dad the love of spotting insanely
appropriate names (like Dr. Needles), and Mom gave me the tendency to fill a
mug a bit too much with a hot beverage, so that over the years one can trace
a path from the kitchen to my favorite seat by looking at the carpet.
There is more to it than that, I know, and this page will be dedicated to
tracing my family tree (drawing upon the incredible work of relatives on
both sides of my family) and linking to various other related web pages.
I'm currently trying to decide if
Ancestry.com is the best online
genealogy service. They seem to have a good database, but they also
seem to want a lot of friggin' money to access it fully. More to come.
