Home Base: New York, New York.
Voice: Shrill. When she gets indignant
the pitch rises until you search for a dental pick or drill bit with which
you can puncture your eardrums.
Persona: Your arguments insult my intelligence.
She understands the issues facing government today, and everything about her
communicates those issues in a clear, concise, and irritating fashion.
Ego. This isn't a relevant category, since
Laura's sparring partners are all clearly amateurs with no understanding of
American politics (since if they had a clue, they'd stop being so damned
liberal) and couldn't possibly put her in a position of exposing her
ego to any risk.
Rhetoric. Not that she could ever be wrong
(being that she's talking about liberals, after all), but she isn't afraid
to point out to those who disagree with her how incredibly stupid they are.
In fact, most of their views insult her intelligence (this being the
intelligence that thinks "surveil" is a word worth using), they're so
asinine. No educated person could possibly agree with a
liberal, right? Pressure her and she'll get indignant . . . how
dare you have a view that is not just like mine? To mix things up,
she'll belittle people for irrelevant reasons like fashion and physical
characteristics (she just loves laughing about the bad pictures of liberals
that hit the air waves). If she's backed into a corner, she could
always do an imitation of the old Emergency Broadcasting System high-pitched
wail (for which she would have to lower the register of her own voice a few
steps) to convince the dummy liberal caller that they were interrupted by a
national emergency.
Quotes. Anything that lends itself to a shrill,
nigh-screechy voice.
Quirks. Sidekick Lee; apparently inspired by Ed
McMahon, his sole contribution is to laugh at Laura's jokes regardless of
whether they're funny or not. Spends a fair amount of time on tangents
from the politics conservative personalities prefer to discuss.
Doesn't use the shoutdown extensively; in fact, she'll let people have their
say before she laughs them off the air for being so stupid.
